GIVEAWAY: Side by Side

Crafting is always more fun and more meaningful when it’s shared with those you love. Discover the joy of working alongside your child while creating arts and crafts that inspire.

The projects in Tsia Carson’s new book, conceived and created with the help of her daughter Cedar, offer you and your children 20 ways to craft and collaborate to make special family moments you’ll remember forever.

Two of our favorites projects from the book are the Terrarium and Succulent Wreath. Click on the images below to download the free PDFs for these projects and make them at home with your family.

For a chance to win your own copy of Side by Side: 20 Collaborative Projects for Crafting with Your Kids, leave us a comment letting us know your favorite craft to do with or alongside your kids.

Thank you for all of your creative comments and ideas! The giveaway has ended. Congratulations to our winner Pamela who said “This book looks lovely. I love to draw and do simple sewing with kids.”

  1. We love dollmaking together. We’ve done clothespin dolls, corn husk dolls, and wooden bead and pipe cleaner fairies. And this time of year, we love LEAF CRAFTS. All kinds.

  2. Basically, my favorite craft to do along side my six year-old daughter is mostly anything that she thinks up (she’s pretty imaginative!). But if I had to choose one, it would be block printing on fabric with all sorts of found in and around our home objects like buttons, potato mashers, wooden blocks with string wrapped around them, and a lot more.

  3. This looks like such a great book! One of the things I like to do with my son is draw. He’s more into music but I’d love to introduce him to further ideas coming out of this book. Thanks!

  4. HI THERE,
RIGHT NOW MY FAVORITE THING TO DO IS PAINT PUMPKINS… MY KIDS ARE 5 & 7 AND WE LIKE TO AVOID THE KNIVES IF POSSIBLE SO PAINTING OUR “JACKS” IS A FUN ALTERNATIVE. WE LIKE TO TURN THEM INTO LITTLE SPIDERS WITH PIPE CLEANERS AND LOTS OF GOOGLY EYES! 🙂

  5. My grandchildren & I greatly enjoy making pinecone bird feeders a few days before Thanksgiving by spreading peanut butter on them & then rolling in bird seed. We tie colorful ribbons on top, & they are ready to hang on trees or bushes. We give to all who attend our Thanksgiving celebration. Thanks for your wonderful offers. Mary Ann Cauthen

  6. We love to make cards for people-for different occasions and thank you notes. We use stamps, cut-outs, stickers, and assorted other fun items to decorate and create the best card for each person or event, and then write the personal message or poem inside.
